About Tour Package

This is an exciting full-day journey through the spectacular highlands of Ethiopia, departing Addis Ababa at 7:00 a.m. and back by 6:30 p.m. The route covers more than 400 km round trip, so an early start is recommended.

Your first stop is Debre Libanos Monastery, one of Ethiopia's most historically significant religious centers, traditionally associated with the 13th-century Ethiopian saint and preacher Abune Tekle Haymanot. The monastery played an important role in the development of Ethiopian religious and political history.

Continue to the historic Portuguese Bridge, traditionally dated to the 17th century, before proceeding to the magnificent Blue Nile Gorge. The dramatic landscape, with its deep valleys and towering cliffs, offers spectacular views and is often compared to the Grand Canyon in the United States.

It's an easy add-on if you have a spare day in Addis Ababa — no trekking gear, no camping, just a private vehicle, a good guide, and some of the most dramatic scenery in the Ethiopian highlands.
